New Chorizo Arrives at Chipotle

Chipotle Mexican Grill adds new chorizo sausage to the menu in select cities ahead of a national roll-out planned for later this year in the fall.

The new spicy chicken and pork sausage features paprika, cumin, and chipotle peppers for seasoning and is seared on the grill to give it some char. Like the other meats that Chipotle offers, the pork and chicken used to make their chorizo conforms to their trademarked "Responsibly Raised" criteria ("from animals that are raised in more humane ways and without the use of antibiotics or added hormones").

Like the rest of Chipotle's protein options, chorizo is available in burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, and salads.

Chorizo is available at Chipotle restaurants in Columbus, OH; New York City (in Manhattan locations); Sacramento, CA; and San Diego, CA. It's also available at one location in Denver, CO and at the Dulles International Airport location in the Washington, DC area.

The new meat option was tested last year in Kansas City, MO.
